The National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center of Petroleum Equipment and Products, prepared to be constructed in 2011, is the multi-functional inspection center of petroleum equipment and products to be acceptance by the constructed with General Administration for Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of P.R.C. Located in Shengli Economic Development Zone of Dongying, Shandong Province, the Center covers an area of 81mu with the building area of 25,000 square meters. RMB 192 million is invested and provided by the People’s Government of Dongying and Dongying Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau. It is one of the key projects of quality supervision organizations of Dongying carried out to implement the “Yellow and Blue” strategic deployments made by the Municipal Committee of the Party and Municipal Government and promote the construction of industrial base of petroleum equipment and international exchange center.
The Center, as the first multi-functional inspection and testing agency of petroleum equipment and products in China, adheres to the philosophies of "scientific, impartial, accurate and efficient "and makes efforts actively to build a domestically leading and internationally advanced specialized and scientific research-based public testing service platform of petroleum equipment The testing scope can cover over 85% of petroleum equipment and products. Currently, the Center is equipped with 383 sets of main instruments and provided with 71 scientific research personnel and technical personnel focusing on the following tests: full size performance tests of OCTG, air-tight tests and hydraulic tests of valves, wellhead assembly, Christmas trees and other pressure pipeline components; PR2 tests of BOP, pumping units, sucker rods and defueling pumps, chemical analysis, physical properties of metallic materials and quality inspection/testing studies of other fields. The Center provides the public and enterprises with inspection & testing, technical evaluation, consultation & training and other services, and is also engaged in R&D of petroleum equipment and products, formulation & revision of standards, type tests, arbitration tests, and internationally mutual recognition of testing capabilities of labs, etc.
